St Josephs Nudgee College Custom Seating

Custom stainless steel curved seating for the grounds at St Joseph's Nudgee College. The brief was to produce long-wearing, hardwearing seating designed to sit within the school environment and finished smoothly for constant student use and safety. The seating was designed to curve around a tree on site, delivered in four sections to suit transport and install.

Fabrication ran in stainless steel using rolled and extruded RHS and tubular sections to form the curved geometry. Rolling the stainless to the required radius was what gave the seating its continuous curved line.

The rolled and formed sections were welded together and polished to a smooth, neat finish across all surfaces students would touch or lean against. With the seating destined for daily school use in an outdoor environment, the polished stainless does two jobs - it delivers the finish quality the setting called for, and it removes any sharp edges or weld texture that could cause a safety issue.

The finished seating was fabricated in four sections to suit transport to Nudgee and installation around the tree, coming together as a single continuous curved bench once assembled on site.
